Remembering 9/11

September 12, 2003

Chabad Houses across the country paid tribute yesterday to the thousands of lives cut short two years ago.

On university campuses like Penn State and Binghamton Chabad co-sponsored a Mitzvah Marathon, encouraging more than 1,500 participants to take on an additional good deed each, in honor of the victims. At the University of Delaware, Chabad Rabbi Eliezer Sneiderman addressed hundreds of students, faculty, and community members at an interfaith vigil. And in Brooklyn Heights, NY, Rabbi Aaron Raskin led a memorial service that included sounding the shofar at the precise moments that the two towers were struck.
